Customs formalities
Goods Codes (HS Code)
Individual goods codes apply to all international transports outside the EU. It is the responsibility of the exporter and/or importer to ensure that the correct goods codes are present for the goods you export or import. These codes are used to check if the correct import tariffs are applied. You can find more information about goods codes here.
EORI Number
EORI Number For clearances in the UK, we require a valid EORI number. This is an essential requirement for customs clearance. If you don’t have an EORI number, you can apply for one here.
Commercial Invoices / Packing Lists
For customs transport, all shipments must be accompanied by a commercial invoice. This document should be provided by the exporter and must contain at least the following information:
- Full name and address of the exporter, including VAT number and EORI number
- Full name and address, VAT number, and contact details of the importer
- Description and value of goods
- Relevant goods codes
- Gross and net weights, packaging details, number of packages
- Country of origin
- Sales terms (incoterms)
This information is required before loading any cargo into the trailer. Without these data and customs documents, shipping is simply not possible, and the trailers will be refused for shipment to prevent delays at the terminals.
